James Will Speak - Mental Health Talk

Posted on: 08/10/2026

On Wednesday 8th October, our Year 12 students took part in their second mental health talk of the year, delivered as part of the Simple Six Mental Health Programme.

The session focused on the importance of building positive habits to support mental health and wellbeing, even when motivation is low.

Students explored the ‘Simple Six’ – six practical actions they can incorporate into their daily lives, including taking breaks, exercising, getting enough sleep, spending time outdoors, socialising and speaking up when they need support.

A key message was that consistency matters more than motivation. Students were encouraged to make positive habits easier to maintain, take small steps when facing challenges and prioritise their mental health when making important decisions about their future.

The session provided valuable, practical strategies to help our students look after their wellbeing as they navigate sixth form and beyond.
