19th JanYear 9 Netball - Mayfield vs. WansteadOn Wednesday 17th January 2018, the Mayfield School Year 9 Netball team played a match against Wanstead. The girls worked very well on court in a range of different combinations. Mayfield won 13-4. Great first game ladies! Well done!
18th JanYear 7 Netball Success - vs. Chadwell Heath AcademyAfter a game defeat, Mayfield’s Year 7 Netball team were back on track when they played against Chadwell Heath Academy on Thursday 11th January 2018. The girls got off to a quick start, dominating play in the first quarter. Molly (Player of the Match) managed to work the ball nicely down the court with Tia (Coach’s Player) into our attacking end. During the latter part of the game, when Mayfield had a big lead, our girls had gained experience in playing different positions. Mercy played surprisingly well as Goal Shooter and hardly missed a shot – a shooter in the making, I think! With all this being said, the team had a very successful win over Chadwell Heath Academy with a final score of 9-0 and all team players demonstrated true sportsmanship throughout. This is a fantastic achievement so far and we are rooting for them to keep this up for the rest of their borough games.

9th JanThe first Digital Leaders conferenceOn Tuesday 9th January 2018, Mrs Edghill led the very first Digital Leaders conference. The conference brought like-minded individuals together in order to form an intelligent group tasked with bringing issues related to E-Safety to the forefront of student life at Mayfield. Not only are the Digital Leaders aiming to bring a sense of realisation to young people who may unintentionally offend and upset other people through the use of Social Media, but the group are also identifying how the use of such technology can be beneficial in the 21st Century. Images below show students listing the Pros and Cons of Social Media, as well as Headteacher, Mr Rehling, expressing his appreciation towards the Digital Leaders, for their participation is vital in educating the young generation on the importance of E-Safety.
