The 14th February 2026 was a particularly proud moment for Mayfield, as Stephy Mavididi (Leicester City) lined up against Sufian Sillah of Southampton — and even more special as it marked Sufian’s professional debut. Both players are former Mayfield students, and although they would not have known each other during their time at school, seeing two of our Alumni share the same pitch at this level is an incredible achievement.

For Sufian to make his debut on such a stage, and for Stephy to be established in the professional game, is a testament to their hard work, resilience and dedication. It was a fantastic moment of pride for Mayfield and an inspiration to our current students.
