Celebrating our Wonderful Library Ambassadors
Posted on: 07/07/2025This academic year 2024/2025, as part of our commitment to nurturing a strong reading culture around Mayfield school, a dedicated team of Sixth Form students have enrolled for volunteer work as Library Ambassadors.
Volunteering in the Library enables students to promote the vision and goals of the Library in line with the core values and ethos of the school. It is a vehicle for student voice within the school, and develops knowledge, literacy, creativity, independence, and individual / social skills in a real-life context. The Library Ambassadors played a pivotal role in generating enthusiasm for the library and all its events, promoting a love of reading for pleasure across all year groups. They have designed, organised, and/or supported events, such as: competitions and challenges, workshops, talks and clubs; special events, book displays and festive initiatives; fundraising movie nights and other fundraising events; day-to-day operations of the library, and contributed to our Library Newsletter “Mayfield Voice”.
Their remarkable dedication to fostering a love of reading in our community has contributed to the library’s success, and inspired the lives of our young readers! The impact of their outstanding and enthusiastic work as an Ambassador at Mayfield School Library extended beyond the immediate responsibilities of the role. Students who took on this position benefited from a sense of pride, passion, accomplishment and belonging in the library.
Thank you, Isha B., Manasi S., Muskaan V., Robert M., Tahsina C., Taranpreet T., Santia S., Karolina V., Hannah B., and Zainab F., for helping make the library a welcoming, safe and happy place, open to all. Your dedication and hard work were truly inspiring. You were fantastic role models for other students, and we are grateful for your positive influence this academic year.
Congratulations!-
