“We are really proud of the positive attitude our students have shown in what has been a difficult year. They have dealt with disappointment, risen to the challenge and shown resilience.

We will continue to be here to support our students as they leave Mayfield to continue with the next step of their journey and we know they will go on to achieve great things.

We could not be prouder and we wish them all the best in everything they do.”

Ms Allison Greenwood and Ms Lynn Campbell – Co Headteachers

While we are really proud of all our students, we want to specifically mention the following who we feel deserve recognition for their consistent hard work. This year’s Head Boy, Nageeb Islam, has achieved highly and will be starting a degree in Computer Science at Queen Mary’s University in the Autumn. Our Head Girl has made immense progress having only arrived in the UK at the start of her time in Sixth Form and will be attending UCL to study Spanish with Management Studies. The high grades she has achieved are a testament to her commitment over the past two years.

Ilyas Dar has maintained the high standard he set at GCSE and has secured himself a place to read Medicine at Oxford University. Mahfuza Laskar, Amina Yousaf, Humza Qasim, Khalid Omar, Wasif Uddin, and Anush Ishtiaque have all done themselves and their teachers proud by gaining high grades and attaining a place at Russell Group universities. Konstantin Elanov also achieved high grades and will be continuing his interest in digital technology as he starts a highly competitive degree apprenticeship at Jaguar Land Rover in connection with Warwick University. Abdi Osman will be joining PwC on the undergraduate Apprenticeship Programme.

As a school we measure equally the success of our vocational students and we take this opportunity to congratulate in particular Yasmin Akanbi, Rema Ali, Denzel Howison, Safa Hussain, and Rutendo Marshall. We are so proud of all our students who have shown excellent resilience in the face of difficult circumstances, and we wish them all the best in the future.

At Mayfield we celebrate the success of our students and congratulate them for all their hard work. This year we faced circumstances that no one was expecting we witnessed our students show diligence and determination to do well. We are proud of all our students who have worked hard and will support all our students as they move forward to the next step of their academic and employment journey. Many congratulations to our incredible class of 2020. They have worked hard, made us laugh and shown kindness to their community. This is just the beginning of their success!
