Sports Day 2017
Friday 8th July marked Mayfield School’s annual Sports Day. The day was full of exciting sporting events, in which all Year Groups attended.

MAYFIELD SUMMER EXTRAVAGANZA 2017
If you would like to start the summer in style, then come on down to the LRC between the 17th & 19th July either before school, during lunch time, or after school. There will be games with prizes to be won and refreshments and snacks to be consumed.

First Give 2017
June 22nd 2017 was the day that Mayfield held its First Give finals. Nine groups delivered presentations on their chosen charities and the top three were awarded with donations to their charities.

Tom Palmer Book Signing & Workshop
On Tuesday 15th November 2016, renowned author Tom Palmer came to Mayfield School in order to give a talk and involve year 7, 8, and 9 students in a workshop.
Mayfield / Mayespark Primary Collaboration Art Project
On the 21st June 2016, a selection of Year 8 & 9 students took part in working alongside Mayespark Primary School in order to create murals that would be permanently exhibited in Mayespark’s playground. Their artwork was focused on British values and portrays positively empowering designs. Their Artwork can be seen below.
Victoria and Albert London, Peter Brook Schools Project 2016
On the 23rd April 2016 Mayfield School were invited to perform an adaptation of Lord of the Flies by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. Below you will see images from the performance.
KS3 Spelling Bee 2016
In April Key Stage 3 students participated in a Spelling Bee, which saw 9M5’s Aminah Yousaf take the winning position, closely followed by Umar Iqbal and Sara Huda.

TfL STARS accreditation provides you with the support, tools and guidance to encourage safe, active, healthy, and more sustainable travel behaviour as part of the school journey.
Mayfield is currently a Bronze school aiming for Silver accreditation. After May half term we are going for Gold. To gain Gold accreditation we are aiming to reach the following targets by May 2017:
1. To increase the number of students walking to school from 40% to 50%.
2. To increase the number of students who cycle to school from 1% to 5%.
3. To decrease the number of students who get a lift to school in a car from 13% down to 9%.
