Faculty Leader: Mr Gilani.

Our Ethos:
The Media Department of Mayfield School is committed to helping students learn about the media in its various forms. Through our GCSE, A level and BTEC courses, we aim to help students reflect critically on the role of the media in modern life. We also see creativity as a vital skill for all students, and we aim to facilitate this through the creative use of digital technologies. The staff are highly qualified teachers who have considerable experience in teaching Media Studies and working within the media themselves.

Extra curricular programme
Students at Key Stage 4 will spend a day at the Redbridge Drama Centre working on their practical productions in small groups with expert guidance from the centre staff. At Key Stage 5, Media and Film students will attend relevant film screenings and conferences, and carry out research at the British Film Institute Library. BTEC students will engage with industry professionals where possible.
